What it does
Zerodha Kite is the trading app of Zerodha, the broker that in 2010 began charging nothing for buying and holding shares and a flat fee for other trades.
Until then, buying shares in India meant paying a percentage of every trade, which made small, regular investing expensive. Zerodha also runs Coin for mutual funds and Varsity, a free library of lessons on markets.
Its founder has said that regulatory changes could force it to start charging for equity delivery. Check the current pricing before relying on the figures here.
